Education Department: Assists members
in becoming proficient in basic educational disciplines.
Applies learning to everyday situations and embraces
technology in order to optimize future employment.
We offer SAT & Regents prep on computers; TACHS
prep classes, homework help, and group tutoring.
Group Tutoring: Our group-tutoring
program consists of a 1 to 10 ratio. We tutor first
grade through eighth grade members. Members are
grouped by their present grade. They meet twice a week.
They meet on one day for reading and the next for math.
Each session consists of three separate components.
The first component entails 40 minutes of instructional
time targeting areas of weakness. The Second component
consists of instructional time utilizing the computer
and computer programs to enhance skills. The third
component consists of extra homework help. If a member
has a special project for school or exams to study
for, this time is then utilized to give the member
guidance and direction. Testing is done only in the
months of September and end of December.
