The Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club hosts an annual ‘Day For Kids’ event, where club members and volunteer staff, as well as nearly 7,000 neighborhood residents, come together. The day will begin with a memorial run for a true local hero, NYPD Deputy Chief Steven Bonano who succumbed in 2015 to “9/11 cancer." Previous events included various activities such as: local health organizations giving out information, Community Affairs officers creating picture IDs for children, performing arts productions, face painting, hair cuts, fresh food handouts, etc. Past events also featured local dignitary guest speakers like Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr.
Ice Skating Social
Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club hosts an ice skating social event, where corporate employees can engage with club members and teach them how to skate. Previous events featured olympics skater, Kristi Yamaguchi, who shared her life experience and provided our members with positive life advice. Previous sponsors include Walmart, along with Proctor & Gamble who provided skaters with hats and coats. During the event hot chocolate, desserts, and other refreshments will also be served.
National Volunteer Week
Kips Bay participates in National Volunteer Week, a week long celebration dedicated to inspiring people to engage in their community. By supporting this initiative, your corporation can interact with and mentor Kips Bay youth. There will be group competitions, where corporate employees will team up with our members and engage in friendly activities. This also serves as a perfect opportunity for corporate team building. Test your skills in billiards, sports, trivia, and more!
Additional corporate volunteer opportunities are available.
