Scholars Luncheon

On behalf of the Kips Bay Scholars Program, I invite you to join us for the 3rd Annual Scholars Luncheon on Monday, February 8, 2027, from 12:00 to 2:00 PM at the Lotos Club in New York.

This luncheon is a celebration of our scholars: young people from low-income families and first-generation college students who are working toward their degrees despite rising tuition costs and educational inequities. The Kips Bay Scholars Program (KBSP) stands beside them with financial assistance, mentorship, and opportunities to grow, from their first application through graduation.

Guests will hear directly from scholarship recipients about their academic journeys and the goals they're working toward, along with parents who have watched their children's futures open up. We're honored to welcome guest speaker Liza Colón-Zayas, an Emmy Award–winning actor, Bronx native, and longtime champion of young people finding their voice. It's a message our scholars live out every day.

Every scholarship awarded is an investment in the future. Your support helps a young person become the first in their family to earn a degree, and helps build a community of scholars and leaders who will give back to the city that raised them.

Since 1915, Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club has worked to improve the lives of New York City's children who are economically, socially, or recreationally disadvantaged. Today, the Club is one of the most prominent and responsive youth development agencies in New York City and the "flagship" of the Boys & Girls Clubs of America.
